about me

Bio

Born in Newcastle, Australia, and raised between Sydney’s Northern Beaches and the Riverina, Lynette Mary Skeers grew up immersed in creativity. From dance at age three to sketching portraits and designs with pencil and paper, she was recognised early for her natural artistic talent. Though her youthful dream of becoming a dress designer or graphic artist was out of reach, she never let go of her passion for beauty. After moving to South East Queensland, and a motorbike accident at 23 ended her ability to dance, Lynette found her way back to creativity. In her 30s, after the birth of her first son, painting became her sanctuary and a new love story began. In 2024, she committed fully to her art, completing a Mastery Certificate with the Milan Art Institute and training with Anna Razumovskaya in Breath, Brush, Begin, while continuing her treasured friendship and mentorship with celebrated Australian artist Donald James Waters OAM.

Lynette is emerging as an Abstract Realism artist, creating romantic portraits, evocative florals, and soulful seascapes. Her work is infused with symbolism, glamour, and emotion—each brushstroke carrying both energy and devotion. She begins with collage, textures, and flowing inks, before charcoal softly reveals her figures, emerging as if from another world. Sometimes she works in silence, other times to music, allowing rhythm and soul to weave into the canvas. Collectors are drawn not just to the beauty of her work, but to the way it stirs the heart. “Life without art is like food without flavour… passable, yet hauntingly bittersweet,” Lynette says.

Her studio and gallery, located on the ground floor of her South East Queensland home, is a romantic sanctuary where colour and light spill into creation. Lynette continues to develop her series, most recently expanding her Icons collections—the glamorous Pink Icons and soulful Indigo Icons. Looking forward, she dreams of travelling overseas to learn from master artists, refining her style, and one day establishing a property to house a large creative space and gallery—an inspiring retreat for like-minded creatives from around the world. With aspirations as boundless as her imagination, she remains devoted to enriching lives with colour, beauty, and love.
