I am deeply drawn to the elegance, symbolism, and quiet power found in Japanese form, where beauty exists through balance, intention, and restraint.

Japanese gardens hold a special place in my heart. Their sense of symmetry and harmony creates spaces that feel both grounding and expansive. Every element has meaning — stone, bridge, bamboo, water — each placed with care, creating a dialogue between nature and spirit.

Water became the emotional heart of this painting. Beyond its calming presence, it represents feeling itself — fluid, reflective, cleansing. The gentle cascades speak of release, while the still pools invite reflection and emotional clarity.

Light was essential. I wanted the glow of hope — light streaming softly through the bamboo forest in the background, guiding the eye forward. The figures crossing the bridge symbolise a transition: a movement from one emotional state into another. They are not leaving something behind, but stepping toward a brighter world of wonder, renewal, and quiet possibility.

This painting is an invitation to trust the crossing — to surrender to stillness and believe that calm is not an ending, but a gentle beginning.

Dimensions: 90 × 60 cm

Medium: Mixed media finished in oils

Frame: Black frame
